What is salary packaging?
Salary Packaging is a cost effective way of paying for eligible purchases or leases from your pre-tax wage, reducing your taxable income and reducing the overall out of pocket cost to yourself. Through an agreement between yourself and your employer, payments can be made by your employer on your behalf, meaning all tax savings available are applied to your regular pay checks, allowing you to see the benefit immediately.
Under a Novated Leasing Arrangement, you are able to package up all the repayments, running, insurance and registration costs in to a single payment, paid by your employer on your behalf, with tax savings applied to your regular pay check. Regardless of whether you use the vehicle exclusively for work, partly for work or even purely for personal use, novated tax savings are available to you though a novated lease.
This benefit may allow employees to claim tax savings on portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, that are used primarily for work. Whilst you can’t typically claim more than one portable device per FBT year, devices that serve differing functions may allow you to claim for multiple benefits, i.e. you may be able to claim a laptop AND a mobile phone, if they are both used primarily for work purposes.

Fly In Fly Out Benefits
This benefit is available to employees that work in a remote area classified as remote by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). This allows tax savings to be made on the cost of self-funded airfares for employees travelling between their usual place of employment and usual place of residence. Please note: these benefits do not apply to flights paid for by the employer.
Employees who live and work in an area classified as “Remote” by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), may have salary packaging options available to them, allowing them to save on things such as rent, mortgage interest and residential utilities.
